You’ll see Stewart's Shops throughout the Saratoga County area. This popular convenience store chain is a private employee- and family-owned business with 330 stores throughout 30 counties in upstate New York and southern Vermont. It is headquartered in Saratoga Springs and has 4,500 employees who work in their shops, dairy, ice cream plant, distribution center, and corporate offices. 1,500 are employed in Saratoga County, making it the second largest employer in the area.

One of the newest trends in wine making is centered on small local vineyards that are often right in your backyard. These hyperlocal vineyards are creating high quality wines that are often parallel in quality and taste to the larger more famous wine producing regions, like Napa Valley in northern California. The “First Saturdays” event, which continues this tradition, takes place on the first Saturday of each month in downtown Saratoga Springs between Broadway, Spring Street, and Beekman Street.  The event, which until recently was held on Thursday nights, is a part of the city of Saratoga Springs’ Art Council’s efforts to bring attention to a thriving art scene of Saratoga Springs and its neighbors.
