With its abundant natural resources and world class cultural offerings, Saratoga County is full of fun things to do. We've highlighted a few of the area's top outdoors destinations, along with the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, a local arts gem that books top notch touring shows.

This blog post is part of  our “Saratoga County NY Real Estate”  blog series.

1)    Saratoga Lake - 4.5 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, Saratoga Lake is a treasured local resource and features beautiful scenery, abundant wildlife and plentiful options for outdoor recreation.  Boaters take advantage of the lake for water skiing, tubing, and sightseeing.  Fishermen cast their luck in search of smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye.  Ice fishing is popular during the winter.  Additionally, Saratoga Lake is surrounded by many local businesses and eateries.  The Saratoga Lake Association is a great resource to learn more about the lake, rules and safety, and fishing information.

2)    Kayaderosseras Creek: Feeding Saratoga Lake, the Kayaderosseras is the largest river contained wholly within Saratoga County.  The Creek is many a local's favorite for hiking, kayaking, nature walking and fishing.

3)    Saratoga Spa State Park: Located only 8 miles north of Malta is the expansive Saratoga Spa State Park, known for many of our area's cultural gems. The Saratoga Spa State Park contains the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (discussed below), the Spa Little Theater, the National Museum of Dance, the Saratoga Automobile Museum, the Gideon Putnam Resort and Roosevelt Baths and Spa, along with many outdoor recreational activities too numerous to list here.  Click the link to find out more and plan a day trip to explore the park's many resources.

Saratoga Spa State Park is located off of Route 50 or Route 9 just south of Saratoga Springs.

4)    Saratoga Performing Arts Center: Located within The Saratoga Spa State Park, the SPAC has delighted audiences for years with its range of offerings, from rock, classical, jazz and opera music to theater, dance, and wine & food festivals. Featuring world class ensembles like the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York City Ballet and touring artists like Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts, you'll be sure to find something great to do during your time off.

The SPAC is located at 108 Avenue of the Pines in Saratoga Springs. See their website for full performance schedules and details on events.
