Skiing in the Adirondacks

Winter is here. Snow is piling up. Life is good for the winter sports enthusiast.

 

Fortunately, the Adirondacks are as welcoming in the winter as they are during the rest of the year. And some of the ski areas are very close by – Gore Mountain is only 30 miles from Malta and with 107 trails there's lots of room for your whole family.

Snow Ridge Ski Area – Boasts the "East's heaviest snowfall" and excellent grooming. Find wide lanes and plenty of steep pitches for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities.

 

Ski Big Tupper Ski Area – Small, community oriented and affordable –Big Tupper only relies on natural snowfall to make memorable days at the mountain.

 

Oak Mountain – Located in the heart of the Adirondack Park, enjoy family-friendly skiing and riding on beginner to intermediate terrain.

 

Whiteface Mountain – Whiteface, also known as the Olympic Mountain, boasts the greatest vertical drop east of the Rockies and is just a short drive from Lake Placid.

 

Titus Mountain – A prime location for honing those racing skills, Titus offers night-skiing and tubing, as well as a variety of trails for all levels of skiers and riders.

 

Mount Pisgah – An alpine and Nordic ski center offer 15 acres of skiable terrain and night skiing, this is a great place to start linking your turns.
