The Albany Business Review reports that The Sage Colleges will begin to offer business administration courses at the Hudson Valley Community College's TEC-SMART campus in Malta. Beginning in September 2015, the first two courses, Management of Change and Innovation and Human Resource Management, will be held in Malta and can be applied toward an MBA at Sage.

The two accelerated format courses will be held in the evening, once a week, from 6 to 10 pm. Other Sage campuses of this private liberal arts school are located in Troy (at the Russell Sage College for women) and Albany (at the co-ed Sage College of Albany) and, at this writing, students will need to complete some courses for the MBA program at those locations, or via Sage's online offerings. However, Sage College plans to extend their program offerings in Malta should response to their first foray into Saratoga County be successful. Graduate School of Management tuition is $680 per credit hour.

The goals of the new MBA program are to develop leaders capable of managing complex organizations who want to move into high-level positions. Sage has been offering management programs for three decades.

The only other MBA program in upstate New York, according to Sage Associate Dean Kimberly Fredericks, is at Empire State College. Sage College's enrollment is about 3,000 in 39 BA programs with 66 MBA students as of the Fall 2014 semester. Sage offers 27 master's level programs and three doctoral degree programs in education, health sciences, and management.

Ms. Fredericks describes the program this way: “'Sage in Saratoga' is ideal for business professionals and others who are looking for a compressed program but prefer a hands-on learning environment to an online option. They will get one-on-one interaction as well as resources and a support system from faculty and peers.”
