All aboard the Polar Express. Bring your friends and family to enjoy a heartwarming and festive atmosphere through the Saratoga & North Creek Railway.
 
This winter, the Caldecott-winning children's Christmas book written by Chris Van Allsburg comes to life. Saratoga's Polar Express brings you on a memorable round-trip train ride to the "North Pole". It's a magical experience for both adults and children. Come dressed in your pajamas to celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
 

The Polar Express Experience

 
Your experience begins at the Saratoga Spring Station and heads towards North Creek in the Adirondacks Mountains. Though the scenery is picturesque, it's the train itself that makes the journey worthwhile. Step inside the festively decorated train car with your family and snap a few pictures to remember the experience for years to come.
 
Once you've boarded, servers in full chef's attire merrily present trays of sugar cookies and hot cocoa. Passengers in First-Class and Diamond seating receive an official, limited-edition Polar Express mug to keep.
 
En route, dance along while music from the Polar Express movie plays over the train car speakers. Keep your golden ticket close at hand, though, because the conductor punches every riders ticket. Don't be scared, however, if The Hobo makes a surprise appearance at some point; he means well.
 
During the train ride, the voice of author Chris Van Allsburg will read the entire book aloud to the passengers as chefs walk up and down the aisles displaying the wonderfully illustrated book pages. Or, you may buy one at the station to read at your own pace. 30 minutes into the merry journey, you'll soon see the outskirts of the North Pole.
 
As you approach, Santa and his elves will be waiting ready to hop on board. Santa will greet every child and deliver them with a bell cut from his sleigh. Sing Christmas carols on your way back and take a few pictures with Santa to not soon forget this enchanting evening.
 
When you return, stop by the gift shop to do some last-minute Christmas shopping. Load up on ornaments, toys, t-shirts, and more souvenir options. They'll make great stocking stuffers.
 
People come far and wide to take a certified Polar Express Ride, and we're lucky to have one in our own backyard. Make reservations, because spots fill up fast.
