Tom Samascott

Tom is the President of Malta Development Co., Inc. and has an impressive history of developing and constructing outstanding residential developments in Saratoga County, NY. In 1988, he had a vision of a company that would become successful by offering quality built homes at an affordable price. Now 31 years later, thousands of families have discovered their dream home in a Malta Development community, and Tom remains committed to his original vision. He is actively involved in the day-to-day operations and future growth planning for the company, including land acquisition and development of new communities. In 2008, he broke ground on Winner’s Circle at Saratoga, a 700 unit, luxury apartment complex in the town of Milton, NY. In an effort to keep pace with the ever-changing needs of the modern housing market, Tom is driven by the challenge to be innovative while remaining competitive. “We continually strive to meet and exceed the demands of today’s home buyers and renters. The ultimate goal is to offer unparalleled quality and value in everything that we build.” Tom is a recognized leader in the Capital Region home building industry. He has served multiple terms on the Board of the Saratoga Builder’s Association as both President and Vice-President. He was a founding member of its Showcase of Homes event and served on that committee for 10 years. Tom has participated as a panelist in an educational new construction program by the Women’s Council of Realtors. He is a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and has earned the designation of Certified Green Professional through the NAHB. Tom also owns the Northwood Water Company which supplies water to 400 homes in the Malta area. Tom enjoys outdoor pursuits like biking and boating with friends and family, as well as being an avid baseball and college basketball fan. He resides in Malta, NY with his wife, Laural. They have 3 children and are devoted grandparents.
