Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and if you haven’t already started planning something fun for you and your special someone, it’s probably time you get on it!

There is plenty of variety in date options for every type of couple out there.

Here are a few of our favorites:

For the athletic pair:

1. A morning bike ride + a smoothie making breakfast

This is exactly what this couple needs to get their blood pumping in the early morning hours. Bike riding is an activity that will allow you to spend some active time with each other and still give you the opportunity chat along the way. Stop, take in the scenes, and chat a little before heading home to make smoothies for two.

For the outdoorsy twosome:

2. Coffee, scones, + a walk in the park

Taking a walk out and about in the park is the perfect way for this outdoors-loving couple to spend some time in nature without having to stray too far in the February cold. A light, easy-to-carry breakfast such as coffee and a pastry will allow you to grab a seat on your favorite park bench and spend time with each other while enjoying the nature around you.

For the artistic duo:

3. A trip to a nearby museum + a café lunch

For the more artsy couple, a trip to a local museum and a light café lunch is the perfect combination of activity and one-on-one time. The museum will give the couple no shortage of new things to talk about, while the café lunch will allow them to connect on a personal level over their findings. Plus, who doesn’t love a good soup and sandwich?

For the homebodies:

4. A Netflix movie night + a home-cooked meal

If nothing sounds better to you and your sweetie than avoiding the Saturday night crowds with a cozy night in, this date may be for you. Start out the night by working together in the kitchen to prepare a new meal. The adventure of trying something new will keep both of you having fun and working as a team. Then mosey your way over to the couch and pick out a movie on Netflix. With so much to choose from, you’ll never be at a loss! You can even pick a new TV series and watch a few episodes.

For the city-slickers:

5. Dinner, drinks, + a window-shopping stroll

Though all of the above options are fun, there will always be something special about the traditional romantic Valentine’s Day date: dinner and drinks out on the town. Surprise your sweetie by taking them to the restaurant you had your first date at, or try reservations at one of trendy eateries in town. After you’ve finished your meals, spend some one-on-one time strolling around the town window-shopping. There is something so romantic about being out with your special someone even after all of the shops have closed. Plus, you never know what you’ll find!

There are so many wonderful date options out there, so don’t let your Valentine’s Day fall short this year! Of course, the most important thing about Valentine’s Day is getting that one-on-one time with your special someone. As long as you find a way to do that, nothing will go wrong!
