Museums reflect a community’s commitment to the future by remembering the past. This has never been as evident than with the museums of Saratoga Springs. Its first museum was formed in 1883 by the Saratoga Historical Society, with the primary goal of collecting and preserving artifacts from all over the state of New York.

The museums of Saratoga Springs offer the community and visitors the opportunity to explore the past, racing, and the arts.

The Saratoga History Museum

Located in Congress Park inside the Canfield Casino, the Saratoga History Museum has several interactive displays as well as artifacts that tell the story of Saratoga Springs. The museum is known for the Bolster Collection, containing 300,000 photographs of Saratoga Springs.

National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame

Originally founded in 1950, the goal of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame is to represent the excitement and history of horse racing in the United States. The Museum not only houses the horse racing Hall of Fame, but also has a vast collection of memorabilia and art.

The National Museum of Dance

Residing in the Washington Bathhouse, the National Museum of Dance is the only museum in the country dedicated to the art of dancing. The museum houses two permanent collections: The Dance Hall of Fame and a permanent installation on the Washington Bath House. The museum also is the home of dance school that sponsors several community events and performances throughout the year.
